Long time... and a few other things

Hello Xanga.... I know I ain't been keepin up... I be forgetting that I have it until I see the reports in my inbox.

Well... it is Asshole Month Part 2... but I don't have the energy, time or dedication to give to it.  Now, I did well my fellow folks Happy Asshole Month, got a few jabs in... and that was it.  I think the novelty faded this month... but I am cool with that.

What can I say for updates... got hired last month... so I am a perm full time employee once again.... but getting a check as a temp every week was SWEET.  *sigh*

Well, I went to Philly and saw my peeps and Sorors, and was supposed to see more.. but I wasn't able to.  I will see you in Milwaukee or Orlando.. TRUST! Had a ball in Philly... but the taxi drivers wanted to get all 3rd world immigrant on ya ass just cause you visiting. Just cause you driving us to our hotel, don't think we don't know how to get there, and in the least amt of time to save us money.  This muthaphuka started talking in a another language and turned up the radio on us when we told him the street to go down so we can get to our hotel.  When he turned down the next street over from our street, we got out at the first stop light. It was funny to see the sorors I was with go off when we got out the cab... but we knew he was trying to scam us.  I had fun period while I was there.. the stories and the sorors I met... ahhh memories!

Another update - some of you all don't know this... I was in the hospital on Monday and Tuesday.  I had a severe allergic reaction. I am cool now, but keep me in your thoughts and prayers...

And for now... I am just trying to chill, stay at peace, and happy.  Hugs to all!

PS - Rome.... we know you a groupie... you ain't got to lie to kick it, but we can break that habit... hehehe

Asshole Month 2006 ~ Part 1

These are the thoughts I had during the last few hours of the first Asshole Month of 2006.

As the first installment of Asshole month comes to a close, I just want to give a reflection and description to the event.

What is Asshole month? Well, it is the time that you are free to give folks what they deserve when they ask those dumb questions, get on ya nerves... just plain ol' let ya hair down.

Participating in Asshole month requires a bit a  craftiness and wit. Yes, this event gives those who are not assholes a way to vent and shed all that winter frustration. Look at it - 30 days of talkin bad to folks, and gettin away with it. Who wouldn't want to do that?!

Now, the purpose for those that are an asshole on a daily is to put the shoe on the other foot..and help those find their iner asshole. Now, if you get a non-asshole that talks so bad to you that it cuts your asshole soul in half....HALLELUIAH!!!! But, otherwise...let them see where their wit is lackin. When you hear them, don't lash back...that is asshole response #1 and won't help them grow.... The goal is to get all to laugh at the whole situation.

Now, Asshole month occurs twice a year, in April and August. So, April is to shed the Winter bullshat and prep you for the summer, and August is to get you ready for Fall and winter.  That is 61 days out of 365 where you can just give folks their just dessert in a manner where they wouldn't see it comin'. Ahhh... Asshole Month!

Asshole month was created in the late 90's by a group of friends that attend the Middle Tennessee State Univ in Murfreesboro, TN.

Now, for my participation.... I am raising my glass of OJ and Malibu Passion Fruit Rum in toast to a guy named Roc. Why, you ask... here is the toast.  I just realized that some guys only live to satisfy their dick.  All I ever want to do is to keep it real ~ the Mantra of D53. You see, keepin it real would mean doin what you know is right and not to satisfy the animalistic urges that reside in the male form. Being an asshole takes work, and he is a self professed "Epitome Asshole". Loyalty is one thing that is tied to trustworthiness. I don't know if you are the kings of assholes b/c of the size of your tool or the way you act....  Insecurity is one thing in everyones life that needs to be handled and eliminated. This toast is to you, ROC = Really Overgrown Child..... No one has to make you happy, just because they find you nice, it don't work like that pat'na . I hope one woman will satisfy you in all the aspects of your world... cause the multiples haven't been workin for years....

OK, so...I hope this was a very candid look at Asshole Month...and that you will participate willingly! ;)

Shaped to its purpose;: Delta Sigma Theta--the first fifty years
By Mary Elizabeth Vroman

It was a cloudy saturday....

That is what the sky looked like when we went in the bldg. We didn't know what was goin on...we were in the zone. But me being me...I was observing ever thang. How they walked, how they handled us...what we had to do.... all was under scrutiny.

But then....we did it. Crossed those burning sands.... I didn't cry, I was just quiet. Mainly b/c I saw this as what it was - a solemn moment. My uncle had just died days before, and I knew my mom nor my aunt could be here to witness this moment. So, I witnessed it for them. I made sure that I held onto this moment and share the precious moment with them at a more appropriate time.

But to recapture the sentiment.....

On this day, April 21st....marked the day that changed the lives of 16 ladies. We came together from diverse beginnings, but we marched down the road to Delta together, as ONE.
So, today....marks the 5th year of bonding, tears, service, sisterhood, and scholarship that we gained by becoming members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,Inc.

I love you GenuOne, I can never forget you, nor will I ever want to.
And to echo my ace, do something in the honor of Delta today.

How are you all doing?  I haven't been posting much here...and that is within reason. This isn't for the postin of my life, just my thoughts and ideas. Can't have biz in the street.  Well, as the title states, I am celebrating American History Month. Yes, some may call it Black History Month....but let's be real.  The things celebrated changed the lives of EVERYONE, not just our culture and heritage.

Now, I may post some info, once I find it and/or when I feel like it.  But don't use me as an easy way to get info....search yourself. I know I did....and for many years.

Stay encouraged, be encouraging to others and always trust in God.  We may be learning about you in the next American History Month.

Now, I hope folks have already started filing their taxes....all the employers had to have the W2s postmarked by yesterday...so either today or tomorrow should be the last delievering of them.  I know I am ready to file...just biting the bullet and get it over with.

Ok, and as well...yall please keep me in ya prayers. I am waiting to hear back about some news. So, just know that things are going well, I am alive, but I need a lil extra boost.

Until next time...
